Highlights of the programme:
The ISE’s first congress took place about 20 years ago (Strasbourg 1990). In 2009, the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, the official journal of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE) celebrated its 30th anniversary and over the last decades ethnopharmacology has developed into a kaleidoscope of research on human’s use of plants and other organisms as medicine, food and toxins. Several generations of ethnopharmacological researchers with diverse backgrounds and interests have shaped the field and today it certainly is a fast developing and flourishing area of academic and applied research. The 11th congress of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology will offer a unique opportunity to present ethnopharmacological work and to discuss the wider implications of our research. This congress will be held simultaneously with the Ier Encuentro Hispano Portugés de Etnobiología.
